Bellhousing Reset

I have a load of photos from the earlier build work. There are six from when it was just finished at Hockly’s but the one I posted previously is the only one that shows the rear mount. Hockly’s came back to me this morning with the conclusion that Sadev did the housing, but talking to SWR again it was outsourced to a firm they don’t use anymore. They have no digital files for the parts made previously. They now do the fab work in house and they’ve done EW plates since. I emailed some stuff to them today so hopefully I’ll get some positive news as I take this forwards.

With help from Stuart Trundle and a 400mile detour north of the border on the way home in the snow I have a sequential gearbox again, this time with all the internals and it came with a box of spares. There is a slight issue of now having two bellhousing adapters neither of which fit an EW however and a hefty quote for a new one being made up. I have quite a few Sadev TU specific parts I will now be selling if anyone is looking for ST75-14 bits.

In a pics or it didn’t happen fashion:

I spoke with Harry Hockly today and they think that they did the bell housing adaptor for Bic which makes sense as the rear engine mount that they fabricated was bolted to the back of it. This is the only picture I have:

They’re looking to see if they still have the CAD files – I hope so!

Another piece of the puzzle restored…

Not the original one, but this has only been used three times as the owner has moved to paddle shift. Not got the rest of the box yet, that’s about 10 times more expensive lol.

Having collected it from storage today it is now home. Photos are me collecting it from it’s winter lodgings…

As I was loading it up a chap called Ron Sutton came over who lived in one of the neighbouring houses. We had a chat for about 20 minutes. He worked with Subaru during the McRae era and then went on to work with Burns during the Peugeot days.

However I didn’t want the car getting lonely once it came back to the new garage workshop so…

…Behold! The stablemate. Given what K16 PUG started life as it seemed apt.

And yes it truly is every bit as good as it looks. My MIG will be busy on this one.

Now back in my garage so that they can eventually be bolted to the engine, which now looks like this (well kind of as the clutch is now off and a few more bits):

Should have the Maxi transported back home and in the garage workshop of our new house by mid January. Updates and progress on this build coming in 2016.
