Some of the parts I’ve been waiting for have turned up:

The alloy bolts are replacements for steel bolts in non-stress areas like these M8 bolts that clamp the Jenveys to the inlet manifold. The weight saving on individual bolts is never very much but it soon adds up across the car. Alloy is lighter than titanium and steel but not as strong. The stainless is for areas where steel bolts need replacing but strength is needed i.e. 8.8 bolt replacements for places like the brake bar.

Look after the grams and err… the kilos will follow. I have a selection of bits to send off for anodising so took pictures of them tonight and will send off to get quotes tomorrow.

This is the standard speed sensor and mounting bolt on the gearbox.

I didn’t like the rusty bolt so I’ve upgraded it to a titanium one

It’s a M7 bolt with a 1.00 thread pitch with a length of 16mm. It’s also a cap head rather than a normal bolt head like some of the earlier cars. It’s a rare size so finding one tooks some tracking down, but in the end I sourced one though Singapore.
