No progress to report, but this is because it’s been sub zero outside since the middle of December and even wearing thermals, old snowboarding kit and lying on a futon mattress it’s too cold to be working under the car, so things haven’t progressed as planned on the bodywork.
I still have several little jobs to complete that have come to light over the last few weeks:
- Replace windscreen washer jets. Current units aren’t working, so I’m ust waiting for some misting jets off a Citroen Xsara to arrive.
- Renew dash lighting. Some of the bulbs in the dash have stopped working so I’m going to replace them with some white LEDs.
- Renew decals. The rear and front decals aren’t original parts – seemed to be cheap copies, so I’ve acquired a set of the genuine graphics from 106Parts.
- Replace steering wheel. Some gift vouchers have my name on them so I’ll be getting a new wheel and adapter from DT.
- Install carbon door cards. These arrived before Christmas in exchange for the silicon pipes that I returned. I’m going to use a threaded nut rivet kit to install them.
Also off to look at a set of wheels I’ve wanted for the last 5 years at the weekend, so although not much progress is being achieved, there’s plenty of things happening…

Thanks Ian,
Pretty pleased with it in all. Certainly lots of fun and looking forward to getting it on the track this year and possibly to some of the events. Did you buy something to replace it or are you saving up for something exotic?
I’m still after a set of S2 Steelies for it too…

There is a lad with a rallye who bought my old steels as spares, i think he’s putting the car up for sale soon so i’ll see him this weekend!
