Managed to source the rear washer bottle and pump from a 205 GTI for the Rallye. Still on the look out for a Citroen AX single wiper setup for it too, but they’re a little harder to find. Have managed to find a headlining for the GTI, but it’s in Reading, which is a lot further than I’m prepared to go to pick one up, so I’m still looking.

In some spare time I’ve been reading up on underbody aero dynamics. A few people have done some experimentation with corrugated plastic boards, but I can’t help thinking that there’s a better way to go forward on this. I have some ideas that might come to fruition much further down the line.

It’s getting towards the time of year that a lot more people start thinking about track days. The Nürburgring is one of the places that many drivers hold in great regard and this drive in a Skyline GT-R has caused a lot of discussion over at Pistonheads. The debate is over a hot lap of the Nordschleife circuit during a public “Touristenfahrten” session, i.e. a day open to anyone with a road legal vehicle.

The circuit is in these sessions a one-way, public toll-road where German road law applies. There is a common misconception that the circuit is derestricted like in races and althoug there is no general speed limit, limits exist in certain areas in order to reduce noise and risks. As on public roads, passing on the right is prohibited.
