Finally found time to make some progress on the GTI side of things. The cam covers have been taken off, cleaned up and then sprayed with some high temperature paint. Black HT paint always seems to finish in a graphite matt black. It’s a 100% improvement over how they looked before.

Having discussed with a few other people how they’ve done theirs it’s apparent that normal paint will work fine on these alloy covers without blistering as they never seem to get hot enough to cause damage to the paint. Also swapped out the spark plugs whilst I had the coil pack off and put in some new iridium plugs.
