Went to the local Engineers suppliers this morning only to find them closed. They always used to be open on a Saturday morning before noon, but it seems not any more. In the end I ordered everything I needed from Namrick who offer a really good mail order service for fastners. I’ve had to order some new fixings for the roll cage as many of the previous bolts used to hold the feet to the chassis were badly rusted.
The wiring strip out ended last night with some relief. I just need to tidy the wiring looms up again now. I’m just waiting for a few bits and pieces to arrive from Vehicle Wiring Products and I’ll get that job finished up.
Managed to rid the car of the tar sound proofing from the footwells. I’ve heard various claims over how much weight that can be saved here, but mine came out at 1.34kg.
