At Last

Finally picked up a head lining for the GTI on Saturday and after cleaning it and working out a way to mount it without the standard clips, it’s in. Nice to have a finished interior at last! I started work on the paintwork today. I’m not sure I’ve seen a flatter paint job for a long time, but with the help of Autoglym‘s Super Resin Polish and some elbow grease it’s come up a treat on the sections tackled so far – roof, bonnet and boot.

Tackled the glass of the windscreen, sunroof and tailgate with the Glass Polish and now you can see proper clear reflections in them as well as the paintwork. Very pleased with how it’s come out. Waxed and polished the panels done so far too. Need to tackle the rest, but it’s a very satisfying job to be doing. The end is in sight!
