Finally made it out to the garage to do some proper work on the car for the first time in two weeks. It was baltic out there and too cold for painting, so it was time to get the weapons of mass destruction fired up. I’ve had these two sections marked out for the chop for some time. Now you see them…


Now you don’t! That’s another 280g saved… well not really I think I’s still compensating for the strut top reinforcement plates.

After that I fitted some various wire wheel attachments to the angle grinder and drill and started cleaning it all up, then filed the edges down. Lot more time and effort needs to go into it but it’s taking shape. Left it with some Metal Ready on which will keep the rust at bay until I tackle the next stage. Feels like there is a massive amount to do, but I will keep plugging away at it all.
