Update

In the middle of finishing off the repairs and waiting for brake pipe at the moment. Found the Home Made Tools website today – it’s worth a look if you’re into that sort of thing.

Over the weekend had the car outside, washed it and then spent a hour or so jacking up each side to clean and degrease the wheel arches with the wheels off. If the car came with a history of mud then I’ve cleaned it off now.

I spent 30 minutes tonight looking for an axle stand in the garage. That cheered me up. Bloody thing was lurking in a dark corner I’d already looked in three times. My garage is not that messy, but I have a lot of stuff in there at the moment and I only really have breathing space to tidy up when one of the Rallyes is out of the space.

In the end tonight, the car is now up off the deck, wheels are all off and brakes have been left to bleed dry. Replacing the rear brake pipes from the master cylinder back to the load compensator valve is the next job.
