Update

Due to my rock star lifestyle I’ve done naff all for ages. I did manage to get to Halfords before closing on Sunday and now have enough brake fluid to bleed the lines. That’s the aim for this week. The only other progress in recent time had been putting a rivnut in to replace a broken stud so that the exhaust heat shield can be refitted.

Bit of progress tonight. Bled the lines through, fitted the exhaust and the various rear wheel arch components and then put the wheels back on. One of the rear arch liners was an incorrect part from a poverty spec model and doesn’t fit the deeper bumper from the Rallye/GTI, but I had a pair of spares already lined up. Just need to get some more christmas tree push clips.

Did a bit of tidying up in the engine bay including a fresh coat of paint on the bonnet strut mountings.
