I’ve been slack on this due to a variety of reasons but I thought I would update so it’s clear I have not been totally sitting on my hands. The car is still filthy in the garage and I have not done anything with it since parking it up other than unpack some of the stuff that we’d crammed inside.

One of the amazing selling points on this was this motorsport spec kit, to put it in context I popped into the Stratton Motor Company last weekend when I was home and they run this kit on the Lotus Evora Endurance race cars. It’ll make a nice addition to the car once fitted…

Just priced up the cost of the Deutsch connectors needed to be able to interface to these two parts and the 5 needed are in the region of £300. One seems not to be listed so I have had to fire off a query about that before I place my order. I had thought of selling this kit on and sticking to my original plan, but this is too nice to pass on and the Membrane Switch Panel has been custom-made for the car, plus it can’t be used without the Power Control Module. So I’ll stick with both.
I have a lot of home work to do on this before thinking about wiring, but spreading the cost buying a few bits each month makes it a bit more palatable. Crimping tool for Deutsch connectors will certainly be pricey. The one I had for the Neptune connectors was about £200 and that was with discount from our friend who works at Farnell. I had done this steering wheel setup which may need some redesign again now and and getting better at desiging things with every go.

I’ll need to talk to OBR about how the PCM is configured…
