New Project

So after two years since I sold my 8v rallye project I have been immensely bored of germanic diesel dullness. The A4 gets the motorway miles done, but it’s no fun on the twisties.

The project car is just that and even with it coming home I felt the urge for something with the potential to get back on the roads more quickly. Having looked at various other things like cheap BMWs, I decided that small, fast and french still ticked the boxes and although I did think about a 206 GTI, I decided to stick with what I know.

This is the new project and it will be work, but it was cheap. Very cheap. Cheaper than the last service on the A4 and it seems to be a decent engine and gearbox. Despite the obvious shortcomings as you will see from the photos it seems to have a few plus points, like a brand new alternator. Hopefully most of the other positives won’t disappear into flakes of rust as I start working on it.

Check out the new ride!

Okay that’s enough of the good side:

Missing trim…

These wheels are possibly worse that those that came on the 8v Rallye I had off Gareth Yates. That said at least the tyres are decent on these rims (Pirellis and Kumho Ecstas) rather than cheap chinese ones.

I have my eye on some better wheels so fingers crossed there will be some progress on that front too. First stop get it legal and back on the road. I’ll decide what happens next after that. I have a few bits left that could be fitted but I intend to try and keep this relatively standard.
