Rack Finished

The beauty of a good finished conversion is all in the details. Steering rack finished and ready to fit when I get around to the rebuild.

Throttle Bodies Test Fitted

Good bit progress today. Fitted the inlet manifold and throttle bodies to the head and mocked up the trumpets to show the lack of clearance. Measured up and then craned the engine out so I could get busy with the angle grinder. Whilst it was out thought that I would take a photo of the... Continue Reading →

Few Parts

Stewart at Baker BM sent out the uprated engine mount bumpers that have just become available... Also added a rather useful tool to my last order from ProBolt...

Quick Rack Painted

Took 3 coats of paint but casing is ready. JB Weld epoxy has arrived, but I took a guess when I was at work on the size of the domed nut that would be needed to seal off the end of the pinion and was a size out. Replacement and suitably sized unit on the... Continue Reading →

Quick Rack

Started work again in the 16v again recently. The steering rack is completely stripped down. It just needs cleaning up and degreasing and then I will get the alloy casing painted up. After that put it all back together with the Quaife innards. Well said I would do this about a month ago, but just... Continue Reading →

Wheels Painted

Dropped some wheels off for refinishing at The Wheel Specialist in Manchester last weekend and picked them up first thing this morning. Here are the OZ Superleggeras - I like them a lot! These wheels were one of the first upgrades I bought for the 16v car and they have hardly ever been used. The... Continue Reading →

The standard position offers naturally good crash protection and doesn't interfere with the rear suspension. In fact the 106 Maxi cars had a special kevlar composite tank... Continue Reading →

Foot Trays

I popped over to Magnum Motorsport recently and had a really good chat with Andy Knowles. Top guy and really interesting to see his C2 Rally Cross car. It has given me some great inspiration. My reason for the trip was to pick up a pair of Peugeot Sport France pattern carbon foot trays. Previously... Continue Reading →

Rig Finished

All finished today on the chassis rig. It needs a coat of paint at some point, but I've put it straight into service. It ain't pretty Shell went on with out any major problems just needed to slightly adjust the position on the mounting holes for the front supports where they tie onto the wishbone... Rig Nearly Done

Rig is almost done. Just need to cut the beam mountings to the right length and add a few more welds here and there. Should get the shell mounted on it on Saturday. May try and get some better pics outside. Bit of triangulation
