Rig Mockup

I need to move the Rallye in the garage and it's currently sitting on axle stands across both bays in the double garage. I'm not ready to put the suspension, steering and wheels back on so I thought I'd make up a rig. I had a hunt around tonight and managed to find all the... Continue Reading →

Next Job

The N/S inner wing is now in primer and seam sealer which is a massive relief. I laid down two coats last night and also did the lower half of the bulkhead. Not a pretty photo, but shows the progress made. The primer will protect the metal whilst other work takes place. The white stuff... Continue Reading →

Update

Update time! Well with holidays and a bit off a lengthy spell battling the N/S inner wing, there's finally some progress to report. First of all though I managed to pick up a S2 Rallye Gearbox Pinion and Crownwheel that is already prepped and ready for fitting to a Quaife ATB limited slip differential. This... Continue Reading →

Welding Continues

Finally getting towards the end of the near side repairs. The final repair panel is now being welded onto the wheel arch side of the inner wing.

Anyway it turns out that they were nearly perfect to make good the repairs to the gearbox mount top plate. Chopped... Continue Reading →

Quaife Quick Rack

Came home tonight to find... ...Goodies! 28 Quaife quick rack and pinion kits that were ordered on behalf of a group of members from the 106 Rallye Register. Great bit of British engineering

TU5JP4 Engine

I'm waiting for primer to arrive and need to go and get some more argon mix gas before I can do much more on the bodywork so last night I turned my attention to the engine for the first time in over a year. It's a TU5JP4 which has been rolling roaded at 165 bhp... Continue Reading →

Baker BM Mounts

Baker BM have been doing an uprated gearbox mount for some time and a mounting for the engine for the first series Rallye, but the engine mount for the series two is new. I was down on the waiting list and mine came though in the post earlier today. They're called group N mounts, but... Continue Reading →
