The 16v Rallye Project car is being sold and the 8v will be up for sale too once I finish the current repairs after which it in for an MOT. Many of the project car parts have been sold or are in the process of being sold.
Funds are being accumulated for the next phase of 106 ownership which means emptying the garage (and the spare room) of much of their current contents and preparing it for something new.

Why the change of direction? I thought the projetc car was looking good and was waiting to see it on the road again.

It better be something special to replace the 16v project after all the work you’ve put in on it.

Well even after all of this, I took stock of where I was up to with the project and where I wanted to be in future and decided that there was a definite advantage in accelerating things by taking advantage of someone else’s hard work and to get a lot of nice bits for a very reasonable price. Off to look at the successor car in the flesh next week and if all goes to plan to put down a sizeable deposit…
Not everything is being sold, certain key things are being retained that have been developed as part of the project. I’m quite excited about it really, I think in this case it’s a change for the better.
