Boot Floor Cross Member Refitted

After about 10 treatments with Jenolite rust remover and a lot of work with various wire wheel attachments the boot floor cross member was primed up last weekend:

I’ve also finished repairing the main repair panel for the off-side inner rear arch. It’ll get cut up to fit down the line but it’s been easier to get it right off the car.

During the course of the weeknight progress sessions, I set about re-fitting it. Some how when I eyeballed the final mock up install, I noticed something wasn’t square and with extra measuring on both this car and K16 PUG realised that the near-side was sitting 1/4″ too far towards the rear of the car. Adjusted for that and then welded it all in square and properly spaced.

Shot coated with primer and this significant milestone is done. The off-side (drivers) inner rear arch is going to be welded back up first, but before that happens the boot floor needs to go back in and that needs some prep work.
